And so it begins

Have you ever seen Babylon 5? Its an old science fiction from the early 1990's and is still my favorite show of all time. I can go on a looooong time like talking about that show, but it actually has next to nothign to do with this particular journal. The reason I mention it is the show has kind of a prequal part (season 1) where it is setting up the actual setting for the story before actually starting the story. At some point in season 2 one of the more wise characters notes the beginning of the true story with the line "and so it begins" and is a quote used as the intro to the show for pretty much the remainder of the series. And so it comes to the purpose of this posting which is "and so it begins."

What begins, well many things have already started earlier when it comes to my transition and such. Things like changed of diet, facial hair removal, exercise, growing hair  longer and so on. But the actual start of my hormone therapy and the thus the hopefully approximately two year progress to full female transition (including the gender change surgery when I get to that point) is today. There were a few delays to getting to this point and I'm not going to get into it because its the past. But the good news is all the wheels are now moving.

One of the reasons I started this blog post was to give a live diary of my thoughts, a live blog on things things I think about and also to start tracking my progression which is almost about to begin. I'm going to start taking pictures of myself this weekend (11/30) so that I can hopefully see the changes. I might start posting those picture about 1-2 months from now as soon as results start getting a little more obvious. So that is hopefully something that you can look forward too if it interests you.

Anyways the first step of my hormone treatment is taking spironolactone  every day. For those who do not know, its basically a testosterone blocker. And from what I understand it basically means the maintaining of male features on myself will be blocked and thus if I did nothing else would move me to a more androgynous physical state. When it comes to how it fits with the greater scheme of things is that it basically makes my hormonal state a blank slate for the actual estrogen to be able to have a bigger impact on me. That appointment to start the actual Estrogen is in about two weeks on December 13th. Because of consisentcy of taking it at the same time every day, I might actually start it that day or the morning right after. The spironolactone  I have to take in the morning so large chance that is what will happen.

One thing about me that is a little different then others in my position is that I care about the end result more then the actual transition aspect. By that I mean I'm not pushing my actual social lifetsyle too much into the female direction till I can actually pass as female. A little ago I started making a point of almost always wearing baggy clothes instead of more form fitting clothes. I did this because it will make the changes less obvious and thus allow me to pass a boy till the hormones have a larger effect. Right now what I'm aiming for, which I think I can achieve, is to be around the point that I can't pass as a male anymore and thus make the change to living as a female 24/7 around May/June of 2020. I know that will cause a kind of shocker to people who didn't catch on earlier but I feel with the right manipulation it will be easier to go from reasonably passable male to reasonably passable female when it comes to dealing with people who are not as friendly to this towards thing then rather forcing people to live with me when I'm in the more "trans" state which I honestly don't want ot live in myself for longer then needed.

To elaborate on the physical side of my transition. I'm currently exercising for at least 10 hours a week now with another 4 hours of stretching/yoga type stuff put in. My diet is now mostly vegetarian and right calorie count to have me lose weight at a healthy rate. If I can maintain my current diet/exercise lifestyle (which I should not that i've started hormones) then I should be a healthy petite by early summer when I make that full transition as well. So pretty much everything is starting to go great on the physical part. I still have to solidify daily habits but hopefully I can declare victory on that by the end of 2019. Below is the beginning of the timeline of actual medical things I'm doing which I will update probably with picture before/after as things happen.

July 2019 - Started facial hair removal.

September 2019 - Exercise of 10-14 hours a week with a cardio/glutes/abs focus.

November 2019 - Changed diet to low calorie mostly healthy.

November 2019 - Started spironolactone testosterone blocker.

December 2020 (Next Step) - Start estrogen in first half of the month.
